³ÉÈ˶¶Òõ Alumni at the BBC Proms
Several ³ÉÈ˶¶Òõ alumni are featured prominently in this year’s BBC Proms festival. Composer Josephine Stephenson (2008) has received a BBC commission, which will be premiered on the First Night of the Proms. Nicholas Collon (2001) returns to conduct the Aurora Orchestra, performing Mahler’s Symphony No. 1 from memory.
Composer and vocalist Héloïse Werner (2010) also receives a BBC commission, with her work performed by the Fantasia Orchestra. Robin Ticciati (2001) conducts Strauss’s Ariadne auf Naxos, while Tess Jackson (2018) leads the BBC Concert Orchestra in a programme featuring works by the most recent winners of the BBC Young Composer competition. Andrew Manze (1983) conducts the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra in a celebration of English music.
